Allianz Retire+ bolsters distribution team with two new state managers

  • Stephen Armstrong appointed State Manager for Western Australia and South Australia.    
  • Natalie Philips joins as NSW State Manager.

Sydney, Australia (29 May 2023) Allianz Retire+ announces two new appointments for its wealth management team following the launch of its longevity solution AGILE.

Stephen Armstrong joins the retirement income specialists in the newly created role of State Manager Western Australia and South Australia, to service the west and south coast of Australia. Prior to joining Allianz Retire+ Stephen was a Key Account Manager for AMP’s Platform business and brings nearly three decades of experience to the role.

Allianz Retire+ has also appointed Natalie Philips as NSW State Manager. Natalie joins with over thirteen years of Business Development experience most recently at Challenger.

Speaking on the appointments Allianz Australia Life Insurance CEO, Adrian Stewart said, “Both Stephen and Natalie bring valuable experience within the wealth space to the Allianz Retire+ team. They are committed to working closely with advisers to make next generation retirement solutions available for retirees.

We see huge potential across both the West and East coast of Australia, which is why we have created the new role for State Manager for WA and SA to service those regions. Stephen‘s decades of experience and deep adviser relationships across the west coast will be welcomed as we continue supporting advisers to secure greater certainty for their clients in retirement.

While Natalie’s deep sector knowledge of retirement income solutions and annuities will support the efforts in NSW to deliver solutions to advisers and their clients. Natalie has a deep understanding of the Sydney IFA and Adviser market, having cultivated strong relationships within the industry.

These new appointments continue to bolster our expertise and will elevate our support for advisers in delivering retirement income solutions to their clients.”

Stephen Armstrong

Stephen has deep industry connections and strong advice expertise. With over thirty years of financial services experience in the wealth management space he has held key Licensee and Business Development roles at CBA, AXA and AMP. Stephen has diverse experience across dealership management, financial advice and product roles which has enabled him to understand the advice industry from a multiple of perspectives to deliver the best solutions. Stephen’s most recent position was Key Account Manager for AMP’s Platform business. Prior to his 9 years at AMP, he was the regional manager of Elders Financial Planning responsible for practice management, network development, and recruitment of new advisers to the EFP Network.

Natalie Philips

Natalie is a highly accomplished and results-driven professional, with over thirteen years’ experience working within financial services. Prior to her role with Allianz Retire+ Natalie was Senior Business Development Manager for Challenger Ltd Australia. Natalie has a deep understanding of the Sydney IFA and Adviser market, which has been instrumental in driving business growth and fostering long-term partnerships. Natalie's background in Financial Planning has provided valuable insights into the day-to-day processing of client investments and the dynamics of the advice industry. Natalie’s strategic mindset and strong sales acumen has enabled her to identify and capitalise on opportunities, driving revenue growth and market penetration.
